Brunswick Street Development

As Development Managers for bcIMC, Great West Life Realty Advisors (GWLRA) is undertaking the redevelopment and revitalization of the streetscape fronted by three residential towers, Scotia, MacKeen, and Plaza Towers, along Brunswick Street in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The development will introduce retail and other amenities at the main and podium levels of the towers, as well as improvements to the green space in the open areas surrounding the buildings to make the areas more pedestrian friendly and inviting. 

PMX is currently providing development management support to the GWLRA team through the design and construction phases in the following areas: project definition and initial planning, design development, permits and approvals, procurement management, and contract administration.

10 Toronto Street

Client: Morgan Meighen & Associates Limited

10 Toronto Street was constructed between 1851 and 1853 as the 7th Post Office of Toronto and is one of the most significant historical buildings in the downtown core. Morgan Meighen & Associates Limited conducted the restoration and renovation of 10 Toronto Street with the intent of moving their corporate offices into the 12,000 SF, 3-storey rehabilitated facility. 

PMX provided comprehensive project management services to Morgan Meighen & Associates Limited for this unique historical project.

Pan/Parapan American Athletes Village (PAAV)

Client: Infrastructure Ontario

In preparation for the Toronto 2015 Pan/Parapan American Games, Infrastructure Ontario and Waterfront Toronto worked with TO2015 to develop the Pan/Parapan American Athlete’s Village (PAAV), located in the West Don Lands region. PAAV housed all of the participating athletes and officials which made it essential to be delivered in time for the Games. The facility includes: over 1,500 suites, a new YMCA facility equipped with a multipurpose gymnasium, swimming pool, and running track, street landscaping, underground services, public art, and the extension of the TTC streetcar tracks into the Village. The post-Games final development plan provides a mixed-use, pedestrian-friendly community including affordable housing on Toronto’s waterfront. This development is a part of the West Don Lands revitalization project. 

PMX provided project management support and scheduling consulting services to Infrastructure Ontario.

19twenty is under development in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Great West Life Realty Advisors (GWLRA) are the Development Managers for bcIMC in charge of the 148,000 SF, 18-floor apartment building that includes ancillary retail and an attached 80,000 SF, 5 level above-ground parkade located on Brunswick Street. 

PMX is currently providing development management support services to the GWLRA team in managing and expediting the project through to completion, including transition and occupancy in the following areas: construction contract administration, schedule management, budget/cost management, consultant contract administration, permits, approvals, and project reporting.

Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada

Client: Ripley Entertainment Inc.

Ripleys Aquarium of Canada

Ripley Entertainment Inc. constructed a new, world-class Aquarium attraction at the base of the CN Tower in Toronto, Ontario. Approximately 120,000 SF, the aquarium houses over 1.2 million litres of water and includes: below grade tanks to service aquatic life, a steel super-structure, large concrete aquatic tanks with acrylic viewing panels, an underwater acrylic viewing tunnel, life support systems for the aquatic life, specialty aquarium tank theming, audio and video, and interactive areas. 

PMX was a part of the Ripley’s capital project team providing project management services on all aspects of the project, from design and construction to commissioning and occupancy of the facility.
